Why do I need to verify my identity?

We must comply with applicable national and EU laws and requirements for the financial services related industry on purpose to provide a safe marketplace and to prevent financial crimes, which includes verifying the identity of our investors.

    Which document can be used as proof of identity and how to start the verification process?

    Once you finish registering, the verification step will appear automatically on your profile. The process is very simple and takes up to 10 minutes. You will be asked to take a real-time photo of your document and take a selfie.

    The only documents that are accepted for verification are a passport or a national ID card. Other types of documents such as driver’s license, residence permit, etc. are not accepted and will be declined.

    The document must be valid, not tampered with, and not covered with any stickers. Your picture, name, surname, and other information must be clear and readable.

      My verification was declined and I cannot try again, can you verify me manually?

      Unfortunately, no, as the verification process is fully automated.

        My document is valid but my verification was declined, why?

        Make sure that you are taking a real-time photo (not scanned or opened on a computer/phone) of your passport or a national ID card, as these are the only documents that are accepted for the identification.

          How to verify the company account?

          Please send us the following documents ([email protected]) to successfully pass the company verification:

          • Extract from the business register
          • Document certifying the rights to represent the company (if it’s not stated in business register)
          • Documents that can verify the company’s registration number, legal address, beneficial owners (if it’s not stated in the business register)

            Which data will be stored during the registration and verification?

            We will store the following information: data from your document, residence address, phone number, e-mail address, a photo of your face, a photo of your identity document (front and back of the ID).

            As the data controller will handle your data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other national binding laws on personal data protection and will only use it to comply with our legal obligations.

              How to change the password on my account?
              • Go to personal settings
              • Scroll down to the ‘Change password’ section
              • Insert current password
              • Create and confirm the new password
              • Confirm the modifications by pressing ‘Save changes’

                I forgot my password, how can I log in?
                • Go to the login page on the website
                • Press ‘Forgot password?’

                • Insert your e-mail address that was used for the registration (make sure that no gaps are left) and press ‘Send’
                • A password recovery e-mail will be sent to you right after, where you will be asked to reset your password. Follow the instructions, create a new password, and press ‘Save’ to confirm
                • Please try to log in to your PeerBerry account using your new password

                  How to set up the two-factor authenticator (2FA)?

                  To activate:

                  • Go to personal settings on your account
                  • Enable the ‘Two-factor authentication’
                  • Open the Authenticator app on your phone, select the option ‘+’ to add a new account, and scan the QR code from the PeerBerry page
                  • Insert the 6-digit verification code from the app and press ‘Enable’
                  • Confirm the modifications by pressing ‘Save changes’ in your settings

                  To de-activate:

                  • Go to personal settings on your account
                  • Disable the ‘Two-factor authentication’
                  • Open the Authenticator app, copy the 6-digit verification code, insert it in the PeerBerry page, and press ‘Disable’
                  • Confirm the modifications by pressing ‘Save changes’ in your settings

                  Logging in via a Google/Apple account works as an additional verification, therefore, a 2FA code is not requested.

                    I have lost my mobile device and the 2FA is activated on my account, how can I log in?
