Notice of a security incident
Dear investors,
In keeping with our commitment to transparency, we want to inform you of a security incident our team is currently investigating.
We have detected that cybercriminals leaked some data of some PeerBerry customers. The data, which was uploaded on one of the hacker’s forums, is almost three years old. We took necessary actions immediately to protect the data of our investors and to identify what was the root cause of this incident:
- we reported the incident to the responsible Authority in Croatia,
- we launched an investigation into a possible leak of data in 2020,
- for security reasons, we forced a reset of passwords for all clients registered till April 2020,
We ensure those clients who registered till April 2020 that your passwords remain safely encrypted and that investors’ accounts, personal IDs, bank account numbers, and similar data have not been compromised.
Investors, who registered on PeerBerry later than April 2020, are in no way impacted by this incident.
To all our investors, we highly recommend regularly changing your password and using a Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to increase your data protection.
We want to assure you that no incidents have been identified in our systems until the information about this possible security incident in 2020. We carry out regular updates to protect our system and our clients’ data. With the help of external partners, we perform regular security checks of our systems.
If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact our Client Support.
Your PeerBerry team
