LendPlus from Kenya joins the PeerBerry platform

On July 25, PeerBerry is onboarding a new business partner to the platform – LendPlus from Kenya.

LendPlus will offer investors short-term loans with a 12,5% annual return. The Kenyan loans include a buyback and a group guarantee.

LendPlus (legal name Aventus Technology Limited) is a FinTech company in Kenya launched by the Aventus Group in 2020. The company provides customers with short-term (up to 60 days) loans.

LendPlus offers a simple, quick, and secure way to borrow by just using the app on the phone. Well-developed technology and a smart client verification process allow clients quickly get the loan online at any time of day and any day of the week.

„In the last 10 years, the Kenyan market showed a good development trend in the field of FinTech development including digital lending. While in Kenya formal financial inclusion is rising every year, local research shows that many Kenyans rarely use their traditional bank accounts on a day-to-day basis. For many households, smaller and micro-scale businesses and farmers’ mobile phones are their key financial platforms for solving day-to-day needs with considerable reliance on the use of digital financial channels. The growing fintech industry is also increasing financial literacy in Kenya“ – what is the market-specific explains Larissa Zyamzina, Director of LendPlus in Kenya.

„We launched LendPlus at the end of 2020, but due to covid, we carried out our activities on a small scale. We analyzed the market and carefully observed the impact of the pandemic on the country’s economy, also the repayment discipline of our borrowers. Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, which affected the business of our group of companies, the development of Kenya and other smaller companies in Aventus Group have been set on a passive mode of operations. We have been developing from our own funds but now we have reached the stage of development when we can start offering loans issued in Kenya to PeerBerry investors. This partnership will allow us to expand our business in Kenya faster“ – says L. Zyamzina.

Most clients of LendPlus in Kenya are urban dwellers aged between 30-34 years.

Currently, the LendPlus portfolio amounts to EUR 360 000. At LandPlus currently work 25 employees.
