Aventus Group CEO shares business development plans – 5 new markets on the roadmap
The share of Aventus Group loans on the PeerBerry platform currently makes up 45% of PeerBerry’s total outstanding portfolio. To date, Aventus Group funds only about 15% of its loan book through the platform, which means low risk to investors (low LTV). At the end of May 2025, Aventus Group’s total loan portfolio was over EUR 305 million. Just a part of the Aventus Group companies offers to invest in loans on the PeerBerry platform, and PeerBerry is the only external funding source for this group of lenders.
PeerBerry investors notice a shrinking share of Aventus Group loans on the platform, especially a significant decrease in the supply of short-term loans. We have addressed our investors’ questions to Andrejus Trofimovas, the CEO of Aventus Group, asking him to comment on Aventus Group’s results, Aventus Group’s vision for the group’s business development, and what investment opportunities investors can expect this year or later.
What are the main reasons for the decrease in Aventus Group loan supply, especially short-term loans?
Andrejus Trofimovas: The main reason for the limited amounts our companies borrow through the platform is the overall profitability of our business. In 2024, Aventus Group earned over EUR 87 million in net profits. In Q1 of this year, we earned over EUR 27 million in net profits. Our profitability is high enough for most of our companies to develop their business further without external funding or with limited funding. The second reason for the limited borrowing needs is the maturity of many of our companies – when the company reaches a certain level of growth, it cannot grow further at a similar pace as in the first years of business – each market has its own limits. Also, regulations in many countries are changing, and our companies must adjust to the changing requirements. It all has an impact on the loan term and the level of interest rates.
Does Aventus Group have expansion plans for its lending business, bringing more investment opportunities for investors?
Andrejus Trofimovas: Yes. We have businesses in 16 markets, and we are always actively looking for new business opportunities in other markets. Currently, we are in the active stage of launching lending businesses in 5 more countries; however, it requires time to test the market properly until we are sure that the business is in the right development trend, and we can offer to invest in loans for PeerBerry investors. Also, we are expanding our products in countries where we have operated for a long time. For example, the volumes of business loans in Poland are growing, potentially increasing investment opportunities to investors.
We see more real estate development-related loans from Spain on the PeerBerry platform. Does this mean that Aventus Group may completely replace short-term loans with long-term loans on the platform?
Lending business remains our core business direction, and part of the loans we offer on the PeerBerry platform will be short-term.
Real estate development is one of our business directions. This year, we launched a business venture in Spain with our long-term business partner, Gofingo. In one of the most prestigious European places in Spain, Marbella, we are developing a townhouse complex of 72 semi-detached houses. Aventus Group and Gofingo both have extensive experience in real estate development in various locations, and I believe in the productivity of our partnership. PeerBerry investors can already invest in our projects developed in Marbella. Investments in these loans include a group guarantee.
Earlier, you publicly shared that you are also actively investing your own funds on PeerBerry. With the current loan supply on PeerBerry, are you able to get fully invested?
Andrejus Trofimovas: I relocated part of my funds to the EU-level regulated crowdfunding platform Crowdpear, which is represented by the same team as PeerBerry. I trust the team behind Crowdpear and believe in their efforts and dedication to managing real estate-backed investments professionally. Most of the real estate projects offered on Crowdpear come from Lithuania, with almost EUR 27 million already funded. I’m Lithuanian myself. I was born and grew up in Lithuania, so I know the market. I’m engaged in the real estate business and understand the possible risks, so I feel confident investing in this asset class. Crowdpear also offers investment opportunities in Romania. At Crowdpear, I can diversify my investments across these markets. I invite PeerBerry investors to look at the investment offers available on Crowdpear and consider them as an option to diversify investments across the PeerBerry and Crowdpear platforms. It is a way to keep funds invested and get returns.
If the geopolitical situation significantly changes in a positive direction, would Aventus Group consider offering investors the loans provided before the war in Ukraine?
Such a question is not yet under consideration because the geopolitical situation is not in our hands, and we do not know how long it will continue. Also, Aventus Group sold its business in Russia after the war started – we do not have any business there. Our business direction is focused on countries with low geopolitical risks.
